Overview

Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Production Planner is the primary point of contact for collecting, entering and maintaining SAP production and material schedules.
  • The Production planner will work closely with Inside Sales, Project Managers, Project and Automation Engineers, Supply Chain, Shop Personnel and Logistics to maintain all aspects of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Resource Planning (MRP) as it relates to production
  • Monitors ongoing projects for schedule inconsistencies and delays. Makes necessary changes and or notifies the appropriate personnel to resolve SAP scheduling conflicts
  • Maintains and manages SAP routings, operations, material allocations and material requirement dates based on data supplied by various departments, meetings, reports and files
  • Releases sales orders to create SAP demand to order parts based on requirement dates established by the planned order routing
  • Releases Production Orders based on build schedule
  • Runs material forecast to aid in management of material optimization. Runs reports analyzing existing inventory levels and evaluates results
  • Maintains SAP warehouse report to aid in, picking, staging, and delivery of all material issued to shop or customer
  • Assists in maintaining and managing SAP parameters to aid in management of Production Planning and Production Planning report generation. (ex: MRP controller, Work Centers, Control Key, etc.)
  • Monitors production order change requests and updates as directed by project manager or PLM
  • Create contract projects to collect warranty costs for new machines sold by Brand to customers in US
  • Participates in post-production machine sale project meetings with the project team to review the project and bill of materials and suggests corrections or process improvements as necessary
  • Assist Plant Manager in other Operational support functions; Safety administration, PuLs coordination, ISO audits, material returns, and order entry

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline with 3-5 years of related experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge and skills associated with SAP AiO forecasting, planning, production scheduling, and processes (or similardatabase/business information systems)
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

 

Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience):

  • Knowledge of grinding machines and grinding machine parts and services
  • SAP Production Planning Certification
  • Lean systems processes (i.e., Six-Sigma) knowledge and experience
  • German and/or Spanish language skills
