In this role, you will have an opportunity to serve United Grinding North America's customers in the Upper Midwest area through connecting them with precision cylindrical grinding solutions. 

Responsibilities

Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Researches and compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
  • Negotiates pricing and sells products and services for a particular line of CNC grinding machinery
  • Locates and develops new dealers, including training
  • Serves as communication link between the Vice President and the Company's dealer network
  • Travels through assigned region to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features
  • Computes cost of installing machinery and anticipated savings in production costs
  • Prepares quotations for appropriate machines and solutions, based on RFO demands.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
  • Reviews grinding tasks and develops new process proposals
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts
  • Attends trade shows

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Sales and/or Engineer discipline with demonstrated sales ability or equivalent technical certification/training with 7-10 years position related experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the CNC grinding machine processes
  • Intermediate-Advanced skills Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), salesforce software i.e., SAP CRM or equivalent and CNC programming for machine tools
  • Ability to read mechanical blue prints
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience):

  • Mechanical engineering degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Hands on experience with grinding applications and programming of CNC grinding machines
  • CMTSE Certification

 

Other (Supervisory Responsibilities, Physical Demands, Travel):

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • This position requires extensive overnight domestic and international travel – approximately 70%
